How can i type hiragana on my computer
I've seen a few people talk up google's IME, over the windows one, particularly in terms of kanji. I think good advice is to be aware of the strengths of each of them even if i personally just went with the google one, because a few different people recommended it. There are similar IME for Linux and it comes built-in in different flavors, but I am no help here, better google it if you're using Linux.
I have a Mac, and you can go to system preferences and then, I believe it was in keyboard settings or something.
I just checked that I wanted the Japanese keyboard, and while I was there, I added the German one too ;- It now sits along the top of my screen and I just click on it to adjust which keyboard I want. Then again, I noticed that I haven't had to use it for quite a while. Either I inadvertently clicked on the "word bank" button, or they did away with it because too many people had trouble with it. I'm wondering Sorry if my question is silly, but when and where are you asked to type in Japanese?
